The 40th Anniversary Steam

The New Year Steam Up for 2025 was held for the fourth year at Grenoside Community Centre. A special year because the event celebrated its fortieth year. (See the NEWS article chronicling its history.) 58 members attended, and we welcomed a fair number from outside the Yorkshire Area. Thankfully the "snowmageddon" forecasted didn't hit us until the early hours of Sunday so did not have too much influence on attendance.  Our layouts Mount Dowd and Dixon Green/Saed-Y-Parc provided the rails to run on for the usual eclectic mix of locomotives and rolling stock brought by our members. There was a  lull in running when the much appreciated fish and chips arrived before the afternoon running. The event is much more than a steam up as it provides a forum for members to catch up, show off their latest projects and purchases, and have a good chinwag.  The event only happens because people volunteer to help in its organisation. So to those who helped in anyway to make the event happen, thank you. To those of you who attended, we hope to see you next year and to those who didn't, why not come along?
